Internship Experience as a Fashion Marketing Student: Outcomes

Finishing my bachelor's degree in Fashion Marketing has given me a lot of experience through industry placement. An industry placement is where we can experience an internship, whereas working with a company that you desire and experiencing the real work that I have imagined for this whole degree.

Contributing to companies such as the Toowoomba Fashion Festival and the Gold Coast Fashion Project have given me a lot of lessons. The internships gave me a lot of experience and outcomes as part of the portfolio. 

First, I learned the importance of time management, whereas managing to meet deadlines from the internship, while managing other activities such as assessment and work. This is where I learned that time management plays an important role, as there are times where I was at a loss of track with the work that I should have done, which made me miss the deadline.

Other than that, the overall experience does give me satisfaction, where at first it seemed impossible for myself  to get to the end of the internship and be part of the important events of both companies. Besides, I get to experience the satisfaction of writing and making blog content for the Toowoomba Fashion Festival, which can be added to my portfolio for future reference and one of the job desks that I believe I have done well and satisfied with the parties. 

This experience shaped my capability to understand the career that I am keen to and better comprehend the roles and responsibilities of a social media strategist, where one has to be creative and always have the ideas to create interesting and educational content. Lastly, the experience also teaches me how to use the skills that we have understood, to increase SEO and the number of audience.

Besides, I learned that it is important to be a reliable team member as the task that is assigned to you is something that the team has trusted you with and believe that you have the capability to do it. This is because I learned that when I am assigned the task, the team is relying on me to finish the task according to the deadline and they know that your skills match the task. It is why, I learn that it is important to find something that match to your skills and capabilities to be able to fulfill the task and adapt quickly to the environment.
