The Stereotyping of "Asian" Fashion: Introduction

“Asian” is a very familiar word that you hear, especially about the culture. The culture for fashion has become very common, where it is used as not just the label in the clothing (Fox-Suliaman, 2023). Asia has spread a lot of contribution to the fashion industry through diversity and expanding the market (Fox-Suliaman, 2023).
Although Asian has reached the peak where the diversity has been reflected through
designer’s collection or brands, but it still been an issue regarding the diversity in representing Asian style in the fashion industry (Wang, 2020). It has been a struggle for Asian to tackle this problem, yet this is not a secret anymore that fashion is struggling to embrace the diversity of fashion (Wang, 2020).
By raising this topic, there will be several topics to be discussed regarding how Asian style has been stereotyped. There are many ways that Asian have been stereotyped, and the topics that will be discussed is language, style, and marketing strategies. These are several things that are probably obvious and can be found in common brands.
